Transformative Listening, Comprehensive care
Jessica Rollin is board certified in psychiatry and graduated from Emory Medical School where she also completed her residency and did a chief residency in outpatient therapy. She graduated Cum Laude from Yale with a degree in History and English. Her practice is not based on the 'quick fix' She works with patients deeply and intensely using both her extensive knowledge of pharmacology as well as her rare training in psychoanalysis which allows for uncovering unconscious motivations and reasons for some of the stuck places that medication can't reach. In Dr. Rollin, you will find a physician who thinks complexly about the many factors that impact your mental health and quality of life. Her passion and dedication for her work, her belief that people can and must change, facilitates a collaborative treatment environment that is both challenging and supportive. The only way is through.
While her practice is small, she believes that deeply and effectively helping one individual can have reverberations and ripples through families, relationships, businesses and generations.
She sees all kinds of patients from many backgrounds and with many presenting issues. Dr. Rollin is adept at treating all of the most common psychiatric disorders: PTSD, CPTSD, Depression, Anxiety, OCD, Panic Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Addiction, and ADHD.
However, she believes that most patients do NOT fit easily into one category or another. Her additional training in psychoanalysis and her many years of experience are helpful in discerning the subtle differences between these diagnoses as well as the many, many different forms of struggling that do not fit neatly into one of these categories.
Some of her niche interests and areas of additional training are:
-Patients considering medication for the first time. Many therapists send Dr. Rollin their reluctant 'first timers' Dr. Rollin is judicious and conservative with medication and can help educate about the benefits and drawbacks of modern psychopharmacology.
-Women's mental health including Perinatal care and perimenopausal care. Dr. Rollin did additional training with the Emory Women's Mental Health program during residency and works closely with women at all stages of their reproductive (or not) journey.
-Working with men who struggle to name, identify and express emotions. Many of her referrals are men who are reluctant to enter care.
-Working with individuals who are part of complex family business or family office systems. The interplay of business and family dynamics as well as the legacy and burden of wealth can manifest in complex ways that undermine happiness and satisfaction.
-Working with high achieving individuals who have 'succeeded' but feel stuck or unsatisfied. In particular she works with a lot of physicians and attorneys experiencing burnout or work addiction.
